INSIDE ART

I had to draw inside today so I made a sketchbook from folded sheets of paper and grabbed some charcoal pencils and colored pastels.

The charcoal was black. The pastels were brown and shades of green. I want to draw nature today and nature seems to use a lot of brown and green. It’s spring (even though it is cold outside).

You can choose whatever art supplies you like and whichever colors you like. I picked these and didn’t fuss at all.

I took one of my sheets of paper and crumpled it into a ball. I’ll throw the ball and wherever it lands is where I will look for Nature to draw. A paper ball is good because it won’t break anything.

Rob crumples a sheet of paper!

I throw the paper ball!. My cat is named “Dandy”. He has a sister whose name is “Suzy”. Maybe she will be in my next video.

Wherever the paper ball lands is where I will make a picture of anything that relates to Nature. I see lots of things here that are natural: the houseplants, Dandy, the wooden chair (wood comes from trees and trees are natural) or the blue sky outside the window. I think I’ll draw the jade plant.

A cat is a natural thing. So I drew a picture of Dandy too. He tried to play with the charcoal. I think he wanted to draw my picture! Maybe I’ll bring some orange pastel next time.

I threw the ball a second time and it landed near the ironing board and the spider plants. The ironing board isn’t natural so I drew the spider plants.

I drew the tree that I could see outside my window.

Throwing a ball to help me choose what to draw was definitely fun. Sometimes it is hard to choose. Making choices easy and fun is as good a skill as looking at and drawing things is. Have fun drawing!
