I've self-published two portfolios of original art that are applicable to animation, picture books or licensing. They were never intended to function as character studies for animated films. Yet, when I draw and paint, I often begin with a figure or background of some sort. Consequently, these book are filled from the beginning with suggestive spaces, mysterious inhabitants and narrative suggestions. These landscapes are stages where characters move and feel and speak. Their stories engage the imagination and take flight. They can be the basis for animated stories or other narrative projects that contain timeless, elegant plots and focused imperitives.
