Much research and exacting design and production went into this free star chart that was included in the North American launch of the VW Beetle convertible a few years back. The premise was that new VW owners would take to the road and get closer to nature, thanks to the ragtop. We took a few liberties with the constellations but the chart was fully functional and accurate. The light colored circular window on the top rotates to reveal the visible part of the night sky at different times of the year. More info at B!G Illustration Group.
